Lessons, Legolas, & Lockwood!

So this week was a good one.  Oh, don't worry, I don't have any pics to go along with it (see previous post).  Bummer.

But, I can still do a type-up of the fun things that happened, right?  You won't be bored, right?  Right?  RIGHT?!  WAKE UP!!!

This week was the last week of my first block class.  It's a math theory class, and I have not enjoyed it too much.  I've met some great people, but the teacher is disorganized and doesn't teach very well.  Let's just say I have learned a lot of things NOT to do in my future classroom.

But I digress.  I was going to demonstrate why I don't like this class.  Exhibit A- our test schedule for this last week.  We had a test on Thursday last week, a group test on Wednesday of this week, the final for the class on Thursday, and our big project for the class due sometime between all those.  Yeah.  I was not too happy.  Study groups, nights in the lab, no bueno.  Three tests and a project due in a week.  What was she thinking?!

Exhibit B- we have a guy in our class who asks a lot of questions.  He doesn't do it to annoy, but he just needs clarification on lots of stuff.  The teacher has gotten frustrated with him a few times, and has taken to ignoring him when he raises his hand.  A lot of the class grumble when he raises his hand, too, but for heaven's sake, we have to get USED to this!  We will be working with kids.  Yeah, kids.  Oh, but I forgot.  They are the best listeners in the world, and never ask the same question over and over, right?  Sure, it might be annoying to answer questions from the same person over and over, but don't IGNORE him!  That's completely rude!

I will complain/compliment her more depending on what grade I get in the class.  I will find that out on Wednesday or Thursday, so stay tuned.  :)

On Tuesday night, I decided I needed a little break.  What's that you say?  The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Extended Edition is playing in a theater near us?  And Jess and Andrew are going?  And it starts after class?  Done.

I had never seen the extended version before, but I loved it!  This movie has a special place in my heart for a few different reasons, a LARGE and very ATTRACTIVE one being Orlando Bloom.  I was hoping the extra 40 minutes of film included scenes of him fighting, running, looking hot, talking, using his elf- and archery skills to help the Fellowship, more running, more fighting, and more looking hot.  Alas, the extra scenes seemed to include everyone BUT him.  Slightly disappointing, but I still thought it was excellent.

After taking my tests on Wednesday and Thursday, I decided I wanted/deserved/needed/was going to cry if I didn't get away from school and the house.  There is a community theater around here that does outdoor musicals in the summer, and they were doing 'Singin' in the Rain', one of my favorites (Isenbarger children, cue Mom singing "Good Morning" to us when we wouldn't get out of bed).  My friend Moka wanted to see it as well, so we headed over there to watch.  Besides a few bugs, it was a fantastic evening, and the show was so much fun to watch.  They even rigged up an actual rain shower for the 'Singin' in the Rain' number!  Lots of tap dancing, singing, and laughing later, the show ended with me still smiling.  It was a little different from the movie, but that is to be expected.  Moka and I laughed about a few small mishaps, dialogue mess ups, but overall, it was fun to watch, and that's all that matters, right?  Oh, and it helped that their Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont were so funny.  I think that if there were a role I would ever want to play, Lina might be it.  Her nasal voice was spot on, and she had the audience in stitches with the 'caaaaaan't stand 'im!' part.

So, now concludes my little update.  Hope you're awake!

Import Fail

So, I was importing a whole bunch of pics into my iPhoto, so I could do some picture uploading.  I uploaded the pics and when the computer asked me if I wanted to delete the imported photos from my computer, I did something I've never done before.  I said 'yes'.  I figured they were imported and things would be just fine to get rid of them.

WRONG!!!

My iPhoto application for some reason randomly shut down.  I couldn't believe it.  It hasn't done that before.  So I relaunched the application and guess what . . . the photos are gone.  They are gone from my computer and gone from my camera.  I had some great pics, too!

SAD DAY!!!!

Challenge Extended

So, I challenged Sarah to get a post on her blog this weekend.  She rose to the challenge, and I am trying to as well.  Just for the record, so this idea my family has that I'm a hypocrite goes away, here is the post I sent her:
The family has all updated their blogs. I think it's time for us to do the same. Challenge extended!
