"Look, Ma! Some Back Blogs!"
I back blogged some in April. I swear to you, my life is pretty boring, but there were some exciting things going on for others. Check them out!
Memorial Day "Camping"
Yeah, I use that term LOOSELY!
Lindz and Cameron have wanted to camp this summer, and Memorial Day seemed the best time to do it. Only we didn't book a camp site in time, and it rained a lot in the mountains (even snow!). Most people would axe the trip.
NOT US!
Cameron's mother invited us to camp in her backyard. So we packed up some stuff and did a little yard camping! Cameron dug a fire pit in his mother's freshly tilled garden, and built a roaring fire. We grilled our dinner on Cameron's Grill Master (for the record, so much better than burnt campfire food!), roasted starbursts, made s'mores, and talked and laughed for hours. The guys made us breakfast bagels on the grill in the morning, and they were delicious! I don't mind roughing it in the mountains, but there are some serious advantages to backyard camping:
1. Not many bugs
2. No bears or moose running through the campsite
3. No trails to hike, or explore, or more typically, get lost on
4. Not having to haul your gear to a remote campsite
5. No rocks to clear from your tent site
6. No having to hang your food or garbage in a tree away from critters
7. No critters (raccoons, possum, mountain lions, foxes, deer, elk, moose, bears, etc)
And most importantly . . .
8. A BATHROOM!!! There really is no replacement for a good toilet and shower to use.
Hmmm. The more I extoll the virtues of backyard camping, the less I want to "rough it"!

The 30s Before 30 Goals
I have come to the realization that I will soon leave my twenties. Yup. Me. I'm gonna be 30. That seems like a lot of years. Maybe I should impart to you all the wisdom that I have learned. Here it goes . . . . . . . . . . It was when I was younger that I learned to . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ummmmmm . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . well, I think . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . there was the time when I learned . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . you should never . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . yup, I'm out. I have no wisdom to impart.
Well, instead of imparting wisdom, I think I will set some goals. That's always good, right?
I have been thinking, and I want to do a few things before I hit that magical 3-0. You know, the age when my mother had 5 kids and one on the way. Oy. Here are a few of my goals:
Now if I can only remember how to add tabs to my blog so I can keep track of my goals there. Any help would be stellar!
Have a good day, y'all!

- Lose 30 pounds by the day I turn 30.
- Try 30 new foods.
- Make 30 new friends.
- Learn 30 new things.
- Read 30 new books.

Wait for it . . .
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccckkkkkkkk! After a long 9 month hiatus, this lady is back in the bloggin' saddle! Are you ready to handle the lameness that is Lisa Isenbarger's life? I'm telling you, it is a little boring. Since I really have little memory of the fun times from the last 9 months, I will just blog as they come to mind.
So upward and onward!

Just Another Couple of Firsts!
Todd came in to town for business, and we have been having a blast with him! For a family dinner, Jess made Thai peanut noodles, and Todd surprised us with a Key Lime Pie from La Jolla Groves. I have never had either dish before, and they were so delicious!
So, I am adding Thai peanut noodles and key lime pie to my list of 30 before 30. I'm on my way, and it tastes so good! :)

School Is Out . . .
. . . and it feels SO good! I was signed up to take classes this summer (just because I get a free class every semester from UVU since I am an employee), but at the last minute, I decided to drop them and just work. And *that* has made all the difference for me.
You know you have been stressed out when you read all the Harry Potter series in a week and a half. I have been devouring every book in my path the last few days because I get to read for pleasure!!! No textbooks, no homework, no classes, no assignments, no writing deadlines in my calendar, no group projects, no getting up really, really early, no three hours of class, no STRESS!
You also know you have been particularly stressed when your boss comments on how much more chipper you are now that class is out. She actually said that. I guess I was wearing my frazzled-ness on my sleeve.
But it's not going to show up for 4 MONTHS (until classes start again, that is). Yeah, baby!

May the Fourth Be With You!
When I was a kid, one of my favorite things was when Mom would announce we were having a Star Wars marathon and caramel corn. As Mom was popping the popcorn, the kids would crouch down in the kitchen, and pop up and down like the kernels in the air popper. Once everything was made up, Mom would turn the caramel out to cool on brown paper bags, and we would sneak a few pieces early. Then, as a family, we would watch as many of the movies as we could before falling asleep on the couch.
For the last few years, I decided to celebrate May 4th with a Star Wars marathon and caramel corn. It's not as good as Mom's, but I make do. It's a fun excuse to watch great movies and eat a fantastic treat!
May the 4th be with you, everyone! :)
