I got to fly home for a very quick weekend on Friday night. Mom and Dad brought me home because Dad is being ordained as Stake Patriarch on Sunday. I am so excited to get the chance to go home and see some family, especially since I had already take some vacation time just a week earlier. This is a big deal for our family, though, so I am extremely glad my bosses are understanding! Today was eventful: we went to Prophet's Rock to walk around a bit, Panera for lunch (SO YUMMY!!!!), shopping in the afternoon, a visit to Grandpa Martin at Mulberry, and then dinner with Pooma and Grandma Martin. Dad barbecued some awesome chicken, and we had scallops and shrimp as well. I haven't gorged myself like that for a long time!
After dinner we all packed up the car and went to a drive-in movie. They were showing Up, the new Pixar, and it was awesome! It was a little bit of a dive, but there were a lot of people there with their families. We got there an hour early and still had to park in the back! It was so much fun! Jessie had us do a few different contests on Star Wars trivia. Wow. I'm a nerd! I was able to do a lot of the challenges she made up.
The movie was great as well. Curt, Jessie, and I all sat outside in chairs while Mom and Dad stayed in the car. It was a lot of fun to listen to the movie from the car. And the movie was so well done too! It was a double feature, showing Up and then Night at the Museum 2, but we decided to take off after the first one. We were all so tired!
It's great to be home. :)
