Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.

Tribute
In case you're wondering the reason for the Pepto Bismol pink blog, it's a tribute to the fact that I'm sick today and have: nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach . . . oh you know the song!
Grand Canyon
So I promised to tell the second part of my mini-vacation. We went to the Grand Canyon! I've never been before so it was quite the experience. Driving there from Vegas was a little bit of an adventure since there weren't as many gas stations, and at one point I had to cruise into a gas station after driving on fumes for around 40 miles! All I can say is the Lord helped me out with that one. I NEVER want to get stranded without gas. Thankfully we made it to a station!
Well, Friday was spent setting up camp and talking to all the friendly people around the campground. This was my first time camping since Girls camp, so Shawn made the girls set up the tent! He just sat back and laughed. Punk.
Saturday we drove the hour to the Grand Canyon and the drive was gorgeous! It looked like Oregon, not Arizona. Lots of green and pines. Very pretty. Once we got to the park we drove in looking for a view. All we saw were trees and cars. No canyon. So we finally pulled over and followed the direction some people were taking and BAM! We came out of a clearing and the canyon was right there! We almost drove by the Grand Canyon! How does that happen?! I felt a little stupid.
The day was spent walking along the rim and checking out the many museums and informational spots along the way. We also took the shuttles to more scenic spots. Lots of great scenery pics. On the way back to the campsite Shawn insisted on stopping at every roadside view to take pictures. 4 ROLLS!!!!! The hour drive back took 3 1/2 hours when we were done! No joke! He was so funny.
Sunday was the drive back, but only after having half-cooked pancakes and eggs on the small campstove we borrowed. Shawn was driving, and he's a little bit of a speed demon. We took a scenic way back to Utah. Mapquest said it should take 8 hours, and Shawn made it in 7. Good thing I was asleep for most of it or I would have freaked!!

Whoa! Where did the month go?!
Well, so much for consistent blogging, right? I'm finally updating things! Woot!
This last month has had some exciting things. I finally got to catch up with an old friend and meet her adorable little boy Brendan, I got a small raise at work, and I FINALLY took a college road trip! I asked for this last Friday and Saturday off so that I could go on a trip down to Vegas and then the GRand Canyon for some camping. It was a whirlwind trip, but so much fun!!!! Tonight I'll give the run down on our first stop- Vegas.
Wednesday right after work Shawn and I headed out and drove until we got to Vegas and met up with some of his friends. It was a long drive, and it was really slick up in the mountains, but we made pretty good time. When we got to Stacy's house, she was still having a party, so we hung out with friends until 3. Not the best idea when you've been working long hours . . .
Thursday we ran the strip and checked out a lot of the casinos and shops. Shawn had never been to Vegas so we did a lot of walking and looking around. That night we had dinner with a bunch of friends at the Grand Lux restaurant in the Venitian. GO THERE TO EAT IF YOU ARE IN VEGAS!!!!! I had the most amazing miso salmon- it really changed my life.
After dinner, we checked out the Bellagio fountains and a few art stores, we ran into a small shop that did henna tattoos. I admit, the spirit of Vegas got to me, and I have a henna tattoo now! It isn't permanent, so I won't have it forever, but it will last around three to four weeks. All three girls that were in the group we were running around with got them. Don't worry Mom, it is out of my system now! :) We saw Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis impersonators that were really good, saw the old Vegas strip, and the famous Cowboy that is in a lot of movies. Overall, Vegas was a lot of fun!!!
